Confused

Hey guys,

I'm currently carb cycling (and don't worry, with all clean, unprocessed foods, plenty of lean protein, moderate good fats, and oatmeal and sf+ff yogurt as my only carbs), but recently, I've been having a hard time planning my schedule.
I now have 6 am sport practices (til 8am) two days a week... on Monday and Thursday - and these are intense, practices, and definitely counting as major cardio.

So my question is,
should my high carb day fall on the day of the morning practices, or should they fall on the day before (ie, Sunday and Wednesday)?? I definitely wouldn't go no carb on any of those days.

Thanks so much!!!

You could no go wrong having the carbs AFTER the morning practice (later in the day). If its more of a cardio-related activity.

If its something that requires strenght, then the day before...again it all depends on what sort of activity is: Anaerobic or Aerobic

I agree with Pintoca :)

Why are you carb cycling (is it to loose bf or because that's what you've always done?)

You said these practices are intense.....why don't you try a 40/30/30 split?

It's definitely an aerobic activity... I'm running around with balls all the time. I'm just worried that since it's soearly in the morning, I wouldn't have enough energy to give the practice my all... and yes, I am trying to lose fat.

I guess I'll just eat lower carb on both days, probably only for lunch and breakfast... I figure, I'm on my feet all the time so I definitely do need the energy.

Another question though, what do you guys suggest that I eat before practice?? I know that there is no way I could go through 2 hrs of intense workout without some sort of breakfast...
thanks!!!

its a myth. Your body store carbs, both in your muscles and in your liver. If you are having a good Post Work out shake in your lifting days and a decent carb intake during the week, its not like you will be at "EMPTY" on your carb tank when the morning-training comes.

as to what to have? well, if you are concerned with catabolism, you could have an eggs-white omelet with onions, green peppers, etc... Basically a protein-rich meal, with VERY low GI carbs (the more fibrous the better)

and have some coffee! lots of it, black, no cream, no sugar

Thanks guys!!

I think before practice I'll have myself a whey protein shake... honestly I don't think that I can be jumping around / running everywhere for 2 hrs with food digesting in my stomach...
