ok on the bottle it says 1000mg on the back it says

liv-anew milk thistle 250mg (silybum marianum)(seed)(from a 4:1 extract)( equivalent to 1000mg of milk thistle)***

it was like 5 bucks for 90 caps so it was a good deal either way. Is this statement true though on the back of the bottle? its hard to believe

This just means that you're getting a 4:1 extract.
So 250mg of your milk thistle extract is equal to 1g of milk thistle.

The active ingredient in Milk Thistle that gives you results is called SILYMARIN.

so instead of taking 1000mg of real milk thistle all i have to do is pop one of these 250mg pills? yesterday i popped 3 lol

The point is, you need to find out the percentage of silymarin in your milk thistle extract. I'd still take 3 of those pills a day.

thats were i got it walmart. gnc and vitamin shoppe are like 20 bucks for 90caps of 150mg either way this shit is a good deal even if i need to take 4

I know this is an old thread, but it applies to my situation. Figured it's just as well to bring this one up than to make a new one?

I got this at Wal-Mart, too. 1000mg per pill of concentrated extract milk thistle. It says to take 2-4 times a day... And I've been taking it 4 times a day. I figured I'd take the max recommended since I'm running Helladrol. I haven't had any immediate problems, yet, but if this isn't a good idea I can cut it down.
