Computer Power Setting

what is your computer set up to when you are not using it? (Ex: is it set up to turn off the monitor in 10 minutes) or do you just leave it running all day long?
Is it better to leave the computer running all day long even if it's not use or is it better to turn it off completely?


I heard that when you turn it on and turn it off your computer often it wears it down and more likely to break down quickly.

options.. leave it on all day or turn it off in standby (note) standby just speeds up the boot...If your not going to be geting on and off of it threw out the day just turn it off.Why because the fans will build up dust on them. Making them run slower and after awhile they will burn out.Fried a few powersupplys doing that.You can take a vac hose now and then when its off to sux the dust out of the fans...
