computer people - modem connection

Okay - I've always gone with the fastest connection possible, so I know all about ethernet and tcp/ip and cable modem and dsl - but I never have used the standard dial-up connection myself, never wanted to bother with it.
but my peice of shit Earthlink DSL totally died last night and I smashed the modem to peices (after it died) so now I need a regular modem that I can dial up with. they are cheap, so I got that covered - but I need to know a provider to go through.
ideally unlimited access and as cheap as possible, a 1-800 or local number, and even better, something that I can get for only one month - I'm moving at the end of this month and don't need it after that.

why don't you get an earthlink dialup account...you already have a dsl account through earthlink so that might make shit easier for you. so you smashed your dsl modem eh...if you can get cable i would totally do that. depending on how many people in your area get it, i would be willing to bet it'd be faster than your dsl. maybe not on upstream but who really gives that much of a shit about that. i get around 3500 down and 90 up on my cable. but this is about dialup. if you are stuck with dialup i would just take the time to shoot yourself in the head because you are just not going to get porn at the same rate you used to.

yeah, it wasn't working so I picked it up and smashed it with my fist and it broke real good after that. then I just broke it in half and crushed the parts in my hands and twisted it up. oh well. when I cancelled my account, they didn't ask for the modem back, I was kind of hoping they would and then I was going to put it in a box and fill it with pudding and add a note saying that "I followed your troubleshooting steps and I'm not sure why it doesn't work"

anyway, did you read my last post? earthlink sucks big time so I'm not going to use their dialup, I found another one anyone for $9 a month unlimited access with a local number - so I'm good. now I just need to get a modem.
I basically just want to be able to check e-mail from home and that will work for that. the porn can wait.
I am moving at the end of the month and will have a fast cable modem waiting for me when I move in, so this is just a temp fix.

without the net for me is like not breathing. I can't do it.

and the smashing the modem to peices wasn't even roid rage - I wasn't on anything, although right after I decided to start my one omna everyday for 26 days.
so I got that going for me. too bad I'm too busy at work today to work out.

and tonight I'm going to see a special preview screening of Final Fantasty.

I got a cable modem, had to sign a form stating I would pay $750 for the thing if I did not return it. You can be your ass I'll return it when we move again.

you are in total roid rage denial my friend. you completely raged on that DSL modem. and don't worry, i went through the exact same shit with them. i wanted to send terrorists to their building and destroy all the tech support and customer service reps. they told me for 4 months that they could hook a nigga up with dsl and kept delaying me and then after 4 months they told me i was too far from the CO. THANKS BITCHES!
yes i read your last post about earthlink sucking but their dialup division i'm sure is 10 times more reliable than their shitty caca licking dsl service. no net = no fun. dsl can suck my rod, i'm all about my cable. and vagina too.

I had cable and it sucked, and where I'm moving is a few blocks from where I used to live when I had the cable, but the person that has it now did a line test and it is faster than what my dsl was... when it worked.

as for wanting to bomb the customer service, I was always yelling at them. fuckers. they didn't know shit and the shortest wait I ever had on hold was an hour. listening to a loop of shitty classical... oh well, better than country.

Cable creams dsl in my opinion. I work for tech support oddly enough on DSL, so dont bomb me, but it just blows. Its full of problems and doesn't catch cable in speed anyway, on top of it usually costs more. Go with cable from what i know

hey slickdadd - I've invested in both dsl and cable companies - I've used both dsl and cable. I'm looking forward to getting back to cable. it isn't always faster, but it is consistent. dsl on the other hand sucks. and neither are doing well investment wise.

and I love the avatar - meeting people is easy.
I'm going to their concert up here in August. can't wait.
