Computer People! I am looking for a printer, suggestions?

Something not too expensive but is good quality (that pretty much narrows it down right?) Really just using it for school. I hate ink jet printers and I would like to try a laser this time. Any suggestions on a printer and a cool place to get it cheap? Thanks in advance.

hey i've got this one hooked up to my 2.1ghz machine at home running Linux. they have a smaller version but since i have a 21" flat panel monitor i had the extra room. printing is kind of slow but the quality is impeccable.

my suggestion is the lexmark z32 series, they are relatively cheap cost wise and do 1200x1200dpi, i have 3 at home they work excellant the cartridages are not as expensive as some of the other brands i have seen as well.

Good move, man. I won't have anything to do with the Lexmarks or the Epsons anymore.

That's a high-end ink jet you've got there. You sure you need something that fancy? If you're going ink, you can get an entry level HP for around $100. On the other hand, I don't know what the higher-end models go for these days. If you can afford it, and want the higher print quality, go for it.

The HP carts I've seen are around $30 apiece. A little high, but if the printer outlasts the other brands, I'll live with it.

Oh, and the Canon inkjets are very disposable as well. Last maybe a year or two, from my experience.
