I own a small business online. I have a list of several thousand email addresses of people that are subscribed to my mailing list. The service I used to use to send my email newsletter went out of business.

anyone know what the best and cheapest way is to send out these newsletters to a large number of people?? My ISP and web host wont let me use their servers to send out this many emails.

btw, this isnt spam, these people signed up to receive my emails.

Depending on your level of tech knowledge, you could just set up a simple server yourself and send them. If that is not an option there are tons of companies online that will do it. I have not researched this lately, but I bet if you search for mass mail, or newsletter services you will find one.

I have a decent amount of computer skills. How would I go about setting up my own server? Also, would this be practical since there are like over 10,000 emails to send at one time.

It could be. I have run Send Mail on linux servers in the past. The set up is a bitch, but once it is done sending the mail would not be that big a deal. you could use a simple shell script to send the news letter to the hole list.
Not sure who your isp is or what type of connection you have, but they may get upset over the amount of traffic it would generate. Also, some isp's will not allow this type of activity. They will scan for the mail port and if they see it open they will warn you, then cut off your connection. When I did this type of thing I had a business cable connection that would allow any servers I wanted to be running on it. If you want to avoid that hastle than finding a commercial service maybe your best bet.
