Here's my problem. I formated my Hard Drive Yesterday. The thing is I have 2 partiton C: which is the biggest and a little one D: which is about 50 mb. When I formated i only did the C: drive. Now when I get into D I just cant see anything, it's empty but when I click on properties I realize that 28 MB is still occupied by data. Now is there a way to see my stuff there or at least get it on my C: drive ?

Thanks

what os do you have installed?

and why are you worried about savng 28-50mb of space/data?

I have win98, there are some important files I would like to get back.

if you re-partitioned the disk then the data you had on the D drive is gone.

no it isnt repartitioned. I still see 2 icons, one for C:, one for D: plus it says 25 MB used on drive D:.......... anyone ?

then you're screwed dude..

so.. you're saying.. you had a c: and d: set up...

you then formatted c:.. and reinstalled windows.. right?

dude.. i really think you're screwed...

hold on though.. i'll double check with my coworker when she gets off her call..

Manny, when you double click on the D drive, what does it tell you?

it opens D but then there's nothing, but in "properties" it I can see the 25 MB slice occupied.

in properties of what? you mean if you're looking at the properties by right clicking the drive while in windows? or do you mean by looking at the properties by using a boot disk and command prompt?

Try going to the VIEW tab and selecting details...see if it shows you any hidden files. If that doesnt work, go to the TOOLS tab, go to to FOLDER OPTIONS, hit the restore defults tab in the GENERAL area, as well as the VIEW area, see if this will display the files now. Often when you reformat the drive, some of these get out of whack, and by restoring the defaluts, often they will work.
