Computer gurus- How to remap a keyboard?

I know a guy who wants to remap his r505DL by Sony keyboard to make the ~ or the Esc button the delete key. Does anyone have any idea how you can do this? He's running XP by the wya.

start -> settings -> control panel -> keyboard and then I think the middle or last tab - then up at the top add... those are global mappings - unsure about specific keys

pop off the m and n keys and switch them. Fucks people up for a while. If they don't catch on, switch them back after a couple of weeks.

Ok I tried that and see what you're talking about, but if I switch to a different setting won't it remap more than just the ~/Esc key? All he wants to do is switch one key. Is it possible?

hmmm... there used to be something called kernal toys that had a keyboard remapping thing... might want to see if that is still out there.

Seriously, you could rip every key off of my keyboard, put them in a blender, and put them back on in a completely braindead order and I wouldn't notice. I haven't pulled the keyboard tray out in months... that shit must be dirty as hell.
