digger said:More likely an app that's stealing cycles -- if I run Trillian, my clock falls behind. The hardware clock is only consulted when you boot up, so if your OS doesn't keep up with the real world, the indicated time will be off. As you suspected, it's not likely to be the battery this soon.
WinXP has a built-in time sync; I assume you're not running XP, therefore. As it uses a microsoft.com time server, I say screw THAT noise. I've firewalled the Microsoft time server at home, and use a third party app instead. ("Haa-Ha! Digger runs XP!" Yeah, one computer out of six -- gotta have something to play Unreal Tournament on.)
