Complete/incomplete proteins....

Just wondering if I should count the protein in oatmeal, rice, vegetables etc in my daily protein intake....

Which are complete proteins, and which are incomplete? Are there any you SHOULDN'T count in your daily requirement?

Also, should fibre be subtracted from the carb count of foods?

nope, they are incomplete

you listed the ones you shouldn't count, mostly grains and veggies and such. Basically, they are not treated as a complete amino acid chain and are used for energy

Also, should fibre be subtracted from the carb count of foods?
yes

So the protein in those foods that are incomplete do nothing for putting on muscle at all? Damn, I guess I'm not getting as much protein in as I thought if those don't count.

Yes they do if combine w/ other proteins that make them complete, i.e. beans and rice.

Nope, you subtract the total fiber count, either way the fiber will be productive to the digestive system and it's not a carbohydrate in soluble or insoluble form.

WTF

Damn, Now I`m pissed. lol OK this is the end of my second week on CKD. I was counting the protein in EVERYTHING. and I was`nt subtracting fiber from carbs. I`m sure those are basics but I`m a total newbie. OH well whats done is done.
And to top it all off, I got an exact 1 tablespoon measurer and filled it up, poured it into my usual spoon that I use to see if it was the same size, AND THE DAMN STUFF OVERFLOWED EVERYWHERE. The "tablespoon" I was using was too small. lololol you just have to laugh. It`s only 2 weeks I guess.........and I did lose over 12 pounds.
