if so, how would you do it with humalog?

If you use insulin, please be so very careful. 10 grams of carbs per 1 i.u. - Humalog is very fast acting. Have Dextrose drink ready and Glucose tablets ready. Have a friend stay with you if possible. As far as carbo load for a show, I will bump...anybody?

Thanks bro but I've used insulin many times, I'm just wondering how to go about using it to carb load just before the show

hmmm well this is how i did it thursaday 10 iu in at nite friday 10 iu in the morning 10 at nite sat 8 in the morning 8 after prejudging and then 8 again when the nite show starts remember 10g-15g of carbs per iu and the humolog acts instantly so shoot and eat

hmm, I've used insulin.. never for this exact purpose.. but I am wondering, if you cut out carbs for a few days (perhaps 3)

then full body workout.. eat a complex carb meal, wait say 30 minutes and then inject 10iu and take in a shake with perhaps 200g of dextrose..

I would think your muscles would up-take the glucose at supraphysiological rates..

I haven't tested this though, but if you have some time to test this before competition it might be worth a try if no one else with experience can chime in here...

but anyway BUMP again incase anyone with experience can help out here..

I'm not so sure using insulin for carb loading is such a great idea. You need to take in a lot of carbs with insulin and sugary carbs at that. Sugary carbs can make you spill over. Pros may do it but I'm sure they've narrowed it down to an exact science. I would introduce the carbs as normal without insulin. If your body is depleted as it should be pre-contest you will absorb the carbs really well any way. Is this your first show?

Needsize...I did not mean to step on your toes about insulin. I just don't want to see first time users expirementing with it, but since you have used it a lot, then I am sure you are quite knowledgable on it. How often do you use it and for how long have you been using it? I was just wondering since I have never used it and I have been told many that do use it go on to stop secreting their normal insulin and become a diabetic from using it.
