I'm going to watch a Pink Floyd cover band tonight. The band is called Australian Pink Floyd, and they are supposed to be the best Floyd cover band that there is. They play shows world wide (at Venues not bars) and not only do they play the music, but they do the whole light show and props too. The band is so good, that they were asked to play at the leadsinger of Pink Floyd's (David Gilmour) 50th birthday party.

Hopefully they will kick ass!!!!

Anybody else like Floyd? What is your favorite song? Have you seen or heard of this cover band before? And, finally, should i get completely trashed before this thing?

I love floyd,a bit before my time but I spent alot of time as a stoner through my teen years so it was nice tunes to listen to after a few bowls.

I dont really have a fav all there stuff is great

Yes, Comfortably Numb is my favorite song ;)

Yes. And I wish I was "Comfortably Numb" right now.
I like The Wall album as a whole but it HAS to be listened to on vinyl!! The sound of the record static made that album what it is! The CD just doesn't do it justice.
Never heard of the cover band.
Don't get trashed, maybe just drop a couple hits of acid though for the full effect. :chomp:

no, dont get trashed. stay sober. then when the band sucks, jump on stage and fuck shit up. what do you mean you cant whip the shit out of 15 bouncers? who are you? Fonz or something?

songs that stick out... mostly are the ones that don't get too much radio play

Brain Damage
Us and Them (really like the sax solo in that song)
Learning to Fly
In the Flesh
Mother
Goodby Blue Sky

The last "GOODBY" in that song is awesome...

and they way it cuts into the opening of numb... masters I tell you.. masters

Second in this poetic arena would be Tears for Fears IMO

Wish You Were Here is my favorite album.

I can listen to Shine on You Crazy Diamond over and over....

A side note: My 10 year old daughter took my Pink Floyd CD's up to her room and I have seen them since.....I think she gets it.

A quick story that may explain it.

Back in 1982, I took my now wife on our first date to see The Wall movie.
We were stoned and had to sit on the front row. I remember smoking a cigarette in the movie. Just said fuck it.

Then, when we got outside, I locked my keys in the car. First date!
So I go back inside and ask this kid for a coat hanger.

He gives me a plastic one! LMAO. I said I'm not checking my coat dumbass I'm trying to unlock a car.

Finally got in the car. Put in a cassette of The Wall and smoked a bowl on the way home.

Twelve years later my daughter was born.

Coincidence? You decide.

;)
