coincidence or paranoia

Here is the dealio...

I've made a thread in the past of a complaint I filed against a employee for sexual harassment. I washed it away, nothing quite settled but yet there is a year and a day for me to file formal suit against it.

about two weeks ago I get a sheet that I am requested to fill out that basically deals with the same topic, and it was from the owner of the company's daughter whom is in college and requested said sheet for her pshyc class.

For some reason or another I just thought it quite odd that being so close to a year before I could file any type of suit against the company for not taking matters and handling them I would get this so I opted not to fill out this paper. She is only here a few days a week and on the most part we have had a very cordial relationship. Alwasy got along great, yet since this incident and me not filling out the survey she can't even look me in the eye.

Am I just being quite paranoid?

All of the questions on the survey were so damn close to what I had said in a closed conference with her dad (the owner)

Daddy is getting his daugher to do the dirty work. I bet you anything if you filled it out, it would end up in the "proceedings" somewhere down the line. Just tell her you are too busy.

Just fill the damn thing out, it's confidentiaLOL.

LOL

but really is it? what i expected to be confidential before was not, and was supposed to be between me, my superior and the Hr chick and two the owners yet others know of the claims.

I don't want to put myself in a corner by saying how I actually feel about a company.. esp to the owners daughter and then two weeks later he finding every reason in the book to decide to excuse me.

I'd rater opt out and excuse myself from said survey.

the fact that the entire way she approached me after not getting a full page report on this issue sparks me to the fact that there was some other motive.

I sent her an email saying I was entirely to busy to do it, and I was really sorry. Today was the first day that I met eye to eye with her again and she shuned me big time. No damn love loss... but it has me thinking. I didn't go thru with any suits, though I could have with the evidence I presented. But that is just not me.

You are a smart chick.....even if you have purple hair. :p

I'd just stay quiet about the whole thing unless you're approached by the owners, HR chick, or superior.

That sucks.

I've stayed quiet, but still feel the backlash non stop lately. The clock is ticking and i want to be faithful to this company but feel that they are not being faithful to me.

Agreed.

Just keep going about your business and dont worry about something like this form which is not something you are required to do for your job. You havent done anything wrong by ignoring it. The whole thing seems fishy IMO. Did everyone else in the whole office get the same form?

Anyway, if I felt that much workplace pressure, I'd be out of there.

Just don't push back. You know the right thing to do. Don't take their bait.

her paper is not confidential and you were right to not fill it out. it could ONLY come back to bite you.

she HAD to have known its not something that you would feel right doing. if you're wondering what's up with her though, i'd just go ask her if everything was ok.

well, in her letter it says she needed 4 papers... all of which were employee's that directly linked to me. My engineer, One owner and two people whom stood up and went put in a word for me. coincidence?

I think not.

I have been trying to relocate, but beings my field its really hard here. I can relocate and have plenty of offers but its the relcation that I don't care for.

I'm not at all lacking for employment, but more lacking for finding employment where I am willing to work.

Its amazing the things i've gone thru since i've made a complaint.

I really don't care if on a personal level she likes me or not. We have always had a good relationship until now when I didn't complete her required (ahem) assignment.

I won't further make my way harder than it is already... lord knows, i'm fighting an uphill battle

N, I went through the same thing. Men here were brutal to me after we got the harrassment policy in place.
The owners of my company on the other hand, offered an apology to me and my co workers for the abuse. But they only did this b/c we are a public company that makes much money and they needed to appease the share holders. I am only a # to them so....
Not sure if your company is private or public, but being private does make it harder to fight. You need to just stay under the radar for now and do not fill anything out.

AH... RIGHT now i feel like I'm just sucking ass to please someone when I don't even need to. I am good at what I do and do more than I should on every daily schedule. But yet, I have proved myself over and over again and now its like I am starting over? I don't make crap here for the required work I do. I cold have made a complaint, filed suit and cashed in hundreds of thousands with the people I had to back me. I didn't do shit! And then this! Now I have to battle being put down, treated like crap? I think not!

I bust my ass here, nonstop. If they need something N is there to fix there problems. I dunno... all this fishy shit makes me jumpy.

Dont know how high up you are in your company or what you do, but I wouldn't have filled it out, plus I would look to go somewhere else and once you got the job else where maybe pursue this issue more considering it was suppose to be private and its obviously not the case. Sounds like you're in a lose/lose situation at the place you are at now due to this issue. Besides sometimes a fresh new start is better anyway.

I'd just leave the paper alone. She can get someone else to help her with the project.

HELL YAH.

But I'm a Yankee - from NY no less - I wouldn't trust her or him.

I think its quite obvious, They are seeing what type of evidence you have for a civil proceeding. Take the high road on this issue if you enjoy your job. Have you ever filed a complaint for this in the past?

I'm on the prowl... thinking of just starting my own business actually. I have the support right now so its the perfect time to do it.

I want to expand my education and what better time. I've been subjected to shit that for one I have no earthly idea where it comes from and for two, it quite ironic that it comes right after all of this harassment issues. Nothing otherwise have changed at all.

Starting your own buisness is a good idea, this way you dont have to put up with anyones shit. I've thought about that too, but its hard when you make pretty good money and then to start from scratch is tough, especially when you have alot of bills to pay every month.

Frisky - my advice to you is, if not already, speak to a lawyer abou this. One thing I am quite certain he will tell you is that if you are going to ever take the next step here, you can not be discussing this on a message board.

just my 2 cents..
