coffee before workouts

Anyone drink coffee before working out? Positives/Negatives?

Also if i drink a lot of coffee during the day to i need to up my water intake to more than a gallon a day to compensate for water lost from dehydration?
 
I love caffeine before a work out....when I was younger, I use to take those 357 Mags...LOL Just drink lots of water or you will get cramps!
 
Positives, it can increase fatty acid mobilization and also give you some extra energy.


Negatives, it only works in people who are unaccustom to caffeine...so after you take it for a while, its effects will wear off. Have you been drinking coffee all your life?

And yes, increase your water intake as much as possible.

yeah since caffiene's such a mild diuretic I think it would be beneficial for its stimulant properties. Like bulldog said, just increase water intake.
 
Love the drink, usually go to Dunkin Donuts before a workout drink a 20oz cup sit and contimplate my workout, helps me keep focus. As everyone says just make sure to up your water intake, and coffee intake as you will need more!!!!!!!!!!

I take 2 ECA & Nodoze before Cardio in the mornings & a double ECA about 4 pm before workouts. This is only while i'm cycling.

I consume caffeine ONLY when cutting. For the rest of the year I religiously stay away from coffee (and other caffeine containing products). That way, when I do consume caffeine products I can feel them like no other. In fact, 200-300mg of caffeine causes me the same (or over more) stimulation than even 25mg of ephedrine. For people who consume coffee every day, consuming coffee preworkout will not do much other than keep their otherwise normal energy levels.
