Coffee, anyone?

Who drinks coffee? and if so, you think it has a negative effect on your body or hinders your gains? usually, i'll pop a couple xenedrine or something, but when off, i need a kick start in the morning..

Coffe is a diuretic. Your body needs a lot of water. We probably don't drink enough water as it is. Most of the body's chemical reactions require water. If you do drink coffee in the morning, make sure you drink lots of water throughout the day to keep yourself hydrated.
 
I've known guys that drink it before they work out. Ugh. Myself, I only drink coffee in times of extreme needs, finals week, big test in school. And it has a negative effect because when I drink coffee it is 6 cups at a time. But also at the same time I am not sleeping properly, diet sucks, workouts suck. Just did this past two weeks. Had 120 pages of papers to write, 65 minutes of presentations to give. Graduate in 8 days. It's worth it to finish school but does my body no good.

I think drinking coffee in moderation would be no worse than most other things. Except when concerning creatine. Seeing creatine is used to put water in muscles and caffiene sucks the body dry, whats the word, diaretic
 
i'm the same way, bro. i either dont drink it at all, or i drink like 8 cups a day. i generally catch myself slacking at the gym while drinking coffee, though. f that.

As long as you don't go overboard on sugar and you get adequate water and vitamin/mineral supplementation, there should be no problem with coffee intake.

If anything, it should speed the metabolism to some extent due to the caffeine content. I've also heard of moderate use having heart benefits.

I drink a lot of coffee. Drinking a nice Tanzanian blend right now as a matter of fact.
 
Sumatra Manheling, Jamaica Blue, Kona Royal.....double espressos...love em all. 1-3 cups a day keep me focused and improve my workouts. Helps in the bederoom too they say.
