Cleans...?

DZLS

New member
I've seen this exercise mentioned quite a few times when talking about lower back work...

anyone have a video with the proper technique for doing cleans, and why i should be doing them...?

what benefits could i expect to see from this exercise...?

Cleans are a very "athletic" lift if that makes sense. You just don't go in the gym today and start doing them like bicep curls. They take a lot of work and technique, but reward you with great gains in overall strength, size, power, and explosiveness.

thanks for the info fellas...

i would say i'm an "athletic" person, as i play lots of basketball and used to play volleyball...

i'm gonna give these a try in a few weeks, and see if i can get the form down before adding any kind of weight...

See if you can't locate a coach in your area. Even a couple of sessions or sporadic visits over a year will be massive. As a rule a good coach can teach the lifts very quickly and get you up and running properly - it takes a lot more time to correct bad technique that to just teach it right the first time (yes, I've been down this road). Generally very cheap and sometimes free for introduction (they want to get people interested).
