My car has 120,000 miles on it. I usually buy those $4 FI cleaners you throw in the gas tank. I just saw a car place that puts some stuff into the engine in 3 different areas to flush it out. Cost's $65. Is it worth it or should i just stick to the cheap stuff?
If you do plan on getting the service make sure they use BG products. While there may be other good products out there, with BG you know you're getting quality shit.
I have nooooooo idea, that's why I'm asking if anyone's heard of this or anything. It was a while back but when I read the description it made sense. I just thought I'd clean out my fuel system real nice after 120,000 miles, but if i can do it for $4 why spend the rest?
Well if you've been using good gas and religiously putting even cheap fuel injector cleaner through your gas lines every 10,000 miles or so I don't really see a need.
Are you happy with the way your car is running? Then don't spend the money.
Do you have $65 to spare and feel it could help your car, maybe even save you more than $65 in gas over the next year? Then go ahead and do it.
He said three parts of the engine. Perhaps the service includes engine and antifreeze flush? Also on a V-type engine there could be two fuel rails thus two places to introduce Fi cleaners. Then you could also do an intake clean type of thing through a vacuum port.
I don't think we know enough about the situation to make a detailed judgement on it.
