Clean diet equals horrible gas?

Not to be disgusting and not meant as a joke...weird topic but yah

Been on a clean clean diet for the last 2 days. Everything is going well, feel an increase in energy but holy moly I have the WORST gas ever...and it isn't odorless, I had to get up during one of my summer classes 3 times and expel in the hallway because I was afraid I would clear the class out.

Fiber intake is a bit high, but I thought that was healthy.

i hear ya bro. My secretary at work actually got me a can of good smelling spray to put on my desk for these days.

People tell me that i have the worst gas they have ever smelled.

I farted one time sitting at my computer doing homework last year, and actually gagged and had to leave the room for fear of vomiting. I never thought i would get grossed out by my own gas.

My gas gets the worst at night, and if i have a girl sleeping over i try to stick my ass out of the bed with the covers off, so it wont kill her. My ex-girlfriend told me one time i farted when i was sleeping and her exact words were "It was like sweet diarrhea, and my eyes almost started watering."

Cheers to a clean diet

It's true you fart more because if you eat cleanly there is a lot of bulk + fibre + protein.

However, your body will adjust, so the transitional days of healthy eating are flatulence wise the worse.

I literally take a dump 4-6 times per day however

I had the same thing, when I changed my diet slightly, simply adding oats every morning.

I think its goes away after a while eg 1-2 weeks

Get some digestive enzymes, it does help in the short term.

I think the gas is the bacteria breaking down the fiber in veggies and fruit.

I would also check your whey protein, there was one I loved but it did just the most evil things to my digestive system, get one with digestive enzymes in it.

gas = bad bacteria

You need a good quality cold probiotic. You'll never have gas again.
Digestive enzymes are great to help you digest food, but will not combat gas

whats your protein intake like daily?
i know when i was taking in 2x my bodyweight in protein i had horrible gas

suggestions?

this is the brand I use. All health food stores in the US carry this brand.
http://us.naturalfactors.com/search.asp?mode=cat&cat=36

The one I use on this page is

Protec Non-Dairy with FOS - 4 billion active cells, non-dairy
Code 1831 (90 Capsules)

You can use any good quality one, but make sure there are 4 billion or more units in it. You can take one a day for 7 days, then 3 days off.
It maintains a healthy gut/intestine and keeps yeast (systemic candida) down in the body

Might be associated with food combining; obviously everyone is different, but it takes experimentation to figure out what the cause of the problem is. I have to seperate my carbs from my protein as I get bad stomach cramps and gas. Or your body might be in a cleaning transition; a switch from eating craptacular foods into eating foods that nourish and sustain you.

According to some nutritionists and doctors/naturopaths- when solid protein and carbs are eaten together, whatever is deemed the most important (whatever macro was ingested the most) takes precedence over the other, in which case one is being digested while the other is putrifying or fermenting causing gastric distress. I can personally attest to this. I eat them seperately. 1-2hrs apart and have no problems and digestion has improved. Enzymes and probiotics can help as well.

I moved to a raw food diet to help with my digestion problems from a cooked food diet and the results have been astounding in my case. The methodology here is that all enzymes and vitamins are intact in raw food; cooking dentaures and kills enzymes dependent upon the temp that's being used.

Good, cheap cold pro-biotic?

YOGURT.

Enjoy.

There's only a small amount of probiotic in yogurt unless you buy those ones like a "shot"
But dairy causes more gas and also yougurt needs to be digested. A probiotic goes right to the gut.
Not to mention, yogurt has too much sugar
