I'll try to keep this short.
I work in a failing school with a massive deficit (£630,000). We have a few members of staff leaving because of our management situation (the phrase 'what management?' comes to mind). It turns out that these teachers will not be replaced........as a result class sizes will average 27-29 next year. Bear in mind that this is an average number so class sizes could easily be 36 or more for many classes. Also this is a failing school where behaviour is an issue.
The reasoning behind this decision is that not replacing teachers will reduce the deficit quickly. Now, a large deficit makes management look bad. So the school is sacrificing kids education and putting huge pressure on already overworked staff in order to save the reputation of management. Fucking top job........wouldnt have expected anything else from those assholes.
