CKD vs 'traditional' diets

Anybody here tried a Keto calorie restrictive diet AND a 'traditional' calorie restrictive diet (by this I mean the usual hi Carb/prot, lo fat type).

How did results compare?

in summary

lost weight on both
looked more defined on keto
had more energy on low fat
but i did low fat all wrong i tried to keep fat < 30g a day and i'd eat fat free food (i.e. sugar loaded) and erfined carbs
i'm now doing a 50/25/25 and am getting great results
good amounts of energy
decent fat loss

Lost weight from both, but gained back immediately from a more traditional (basically, it was carb cycling) diet. Also, on the lowered fat I thought about food too damn much and was always hungry. I just prefer lower carb diets where you have a higher fat %. It's easy, more filling, etc. Plus you can use insulin efficiently when you need too and it's levels are lowered alot more, and this is a big issue with me.

50/25/25... whats the 50? Prot???
And why this diet instead of a Keto diet?

To keep insulin secretion to a trickle. You will have carbs at the right times, enough to feel good, muscles to stay full and still lose bodyfat.

Are there any threads dedicated to this?
Where can I get more info?

Yes, always lost strength restricting calories without cycling a reduction in carbs ALWAYS. I have honestly never known anyone who hadn't just started working out who could maintain strength for any real length of time with a genuine calorie deficit while keeping carbs high and fat low.

So are you recommending a Keto style diet, or what?

Yes. If you just want to "lose weight," any kind of calorie intake restriction regardless of macronutrient profile with occasional calorie increases to reset metabolism will fit the bill to cause "weight loss" in all but the most Endomorphic humans. If you want to preserve strength and muscle over the long-term, make low/no carb cycling a part of your diet.
