I haven't been checking with a ketp-stick, however, I can't imagine I'm not since I'm so strict with it, no more than 20g/day carbs.
TKD, thanks, I'll look into that. I hadn't heard of that before, maybe that's a possibility.
Anyway thanks for responding.
carbs are not the only issue when getting into ketosis, if your fat intake is not suffiently high then your body will use protein and convert it into glucose preventing you from going into ketosis, our fat intake should be at least 70% of total cals
"Haven't done a TKD...but I don't think you're suppose to carb up with those. Just a few carbs prior to workout ...right?
When I did a regular CKD I only worked out the two days following my carb up. I felt great.
Maybe TKD is tough to get into ketosis, because you are constantly going in and out.
CKD might be better because once you are in ketosis you stay there for five days and feel fine.
It not like you gonna put any muscle on with this diet so I think you might be better off doing a CKD. Do it 4 weeks straight and get shredded. Then get off.
But I never did a TKD...
Anyone have experiene with both for more info, on which is better?"
on TKD, you dont workout the first 2 days after a carb-up (carb-up only for 24hours), instead you keep your fats very high 80-85% of total cals for the first 2 days, then after that you take about 20-30g of maltodextrin or dextrose 30min prior to workout
and thats it for the carbs, during the TKD phase (4days) of the diet your fat intake is about 70% of the total cals, you have to do cardio
the cycle looks like this:
2 days of keto-diet
80-85% fats
15-20% protein
4 days of TKD
70% fats
40g of carbs 30min before workout
rest is protein
1 day carb up
