Briton asks Lilly to change drug name

A retired British accountant who bears the same name as Eli Lilly and Co.'s male impotence drug is trying to get the drugmaker to change the brand name.
Albert Cialis, who lives in Kent, has contacted the British Medical Journal as part of a personal campaign to get Lilly to rename the drug Cialis, said the Independent on Sunday newspaper.
"It is like being called the Viagra family," said Cialis. "There is likely to be ridicule and worse, especially for young members of the family.
Lilly said the name Cialis is a play on words using the French word "ciel" or sky, to refer to the phrase "the sky's the limit."
The drug awaits final marketing approval in Europe and the United States.
Cialis holds the potential to generate sales of more than $1 million a day for the Indianapolis-based drugmaker.
