Choosing creatine

I'd stay away from the flashy, overpriced creatine products such as the effervescents etc... Stick to a basic monohydrate from a known brand. I use EAS phosphagen. Pretty simple stuff, inexpensive.

LOL...anyone remember when creatine first came out and cost five times as much as it does now??

I was just thinking about this the other day. I was in 8th grade/freshmen year highschool when it became really popular. Being an athelete (basketball, football) I was lifting weights alot when my aunt who was a amature bodybuilder at the time told me about creatine.

Anyway, I convinced my Dad to finance the ordeal (he joined GNC's gold card or whatever for that one day a month 20% discount). I think it still came out to around $90. Crazy! It's soo cheap now it's insane. BTW, I gained 10 pounds (water weight I'm sure) and every bball and fball player I knew wanted to get them some creatine. Oh yeah, and supposedly it was going to kill me, at least that was the "team mothers" consensus :lmao:

they thought it was a steroid :verygood:

Personally I'm givin' this new kind a shot.. it's called Creatine Ethyl Ester HCL and I get it through TrueProtein.com.. I just got it today so unfortunately I can't give any true resluts...........YET........ but i'll post up the results asap, in other words after about 3 weeks or so of usin' it.. I've heard nothin' but good things about CEE like the absorption rate is supposed to kill monohydrate.. we'll see though.. here's a slight part of an email I received from TP.com

"Many users become extremely bloated, dehydrated, and or cramped with regular creatine monohydrate (as well as citrates or malates for that matter). Along with the bloating issues, absorption and assimilation within the body is not that great as well, especially when it is not used in conjunction with a high glycemic carbohydrate.

Welcome to the new era of creatine supplementation, Creatine Ethyl Ester HCL. So what is Creatine Ethyl Ester? In simplest terms, it is a creatine that is almost 100% absorbed within in the body (almost 30-40 times more potent the regular creatine monohydrate), as well CEE causes absolutely no bloat or cramping what so ever.

Some ideas to keep in to consideration… CEE generally cost more than creatine monohydrate on a gram to gram basis. Most individuals use creatine at 10-20 grams a day. All that is needed for CEE supplementation is around 2-5 grams a day (5 being overkill). And as well there is no need for a delivery system, like dextrose or a high glycemic carbohydrate."

So, with all due respect, fuck brand names.. your paying for the label ma'man.. roll with the lab shit that's the real deal.. you'll never go back to nothin' else when you realize what your REALLY put'n into your bod.... that's all................lata'.

Creatine Ethyl Ester HCL

I will probably have to do some more research on the stuff I guess.

ChewYxRage, what type of creatine were you using at the time anyway?

I guess I will try the optimum nutrition brand.

i bought online from supplementdirect.com, 10 bucks for 500gs, 20 for 1000g. i also bought 11 pounds of dextros for 10 bucks and 500g of glutamine for 20. then some protien. its good shit, i didnt get it yet though, i dunno y... either way its cheap

:FRlol: :FRlol: :FRlol: Yes. It was like coccaine to the natural weight lifter. Precious and not to be wasted!! I also remember spending 60$ on 60 androstenedione pills, more times then I can count. That was a real waste, though it had that placebo effect.

I dont know how well the extra reps you get from it transfer into size or strength gains.
But im reading studies that talk about it helping in protein uptake and neat stuff like that. So that sounds like it has some promise
But whatever
20.00 for nearly a years supply.
Why the hell not.

Gotta bump the KreAlkalyn creatine too. I tried a sample I got at the Arnold and noticed strength increases right away.
