simple.

When you run out on to the field during halftime at a football game and strangle the crap out of the poeple playing the instruments.

I know, I know......I'm a total loser.

haha mike.

so they're looped around the bottom and the ends are crossed, so when each end of the band is attached to the bar, it's kindof like a knot deal so the band is tighter?

doubling: take the band, fold it in half, and use these to put around bar. this = 2x tension as a non doubled band cause you have 1/2ed the length.

choking: another way to achieve more band tension because it decreases the length of the working part of the band. therefore, the band is stretched more during a movement.

There are several ways to choke a band:

1. where it is looped at the bar, wrap it again around the bar. i dont like this as the 2 sides of the band do not always maintain same tension.

2. another way is to wrap it around twice at the base and then pull it up over the bar. this will ensure both sides of band have equal tension.

3. you can wrap it at the base of the power rack and then extend it under another dumbell then run it to the top of the bar. i like this. it works the same way though. it just shortens the active band length. this is getting close to doubling a band but not quite there. it is a nice midway point.

i plan on putting some pics of all these on my site soon.

take care.
