chiropractor for bulged discs?

shirlene29

I am BATMAN!

EF VIP
anyone tried it? or should I just him euthanized

for peeps that have a clue what it all means

L4-L5 broad based disc bulge causing mild canal stenosis. moderate left foraminal stenosis. mild right foraminal stenosis.

L5-S1 small disc bulge causing mild right foraminal stenosis

bridging osteophytes in right SI joint

for peeps that don't know...discs are bulging into nerve spaces, the left one is symptomatic, the right sides small bulges are not

and theres arthritis in the right SI joint (back of the hip at the tailbone)

the central stenosis kind of freaks me out but I don't know if it should

so...chiropractor with physical therapy? what say you...
the ortho sent him to a surgeon...I think this is extreme

no...he wasn't game when I broke out an enema to get the job done...

just take hydros

hes been to three now...this last one is my orthopedist...
Im somewhat stunned he didn't give him a script for physical therapy..I don't know whats up that he referred him to the surgeon (who also does non surgical treatment0 but Im not understanding the jump
nothing on the report screams surgery to my limited knowledge eyes
Im actually almost wondering if the surgeon referral has more to do with the si joint given that its unilateral

the chiro I made an appointment with is actually also a physiotherapist that local orthos generally refer peeps to if theyre looking for alternative therapies...I really want to know what both have to say about it and was hoping someone had a happy ending story of some kind
Id like to see him no longer in pain

I wouldn't freak out just because you were referred to a surgeon. A good orthopedic guy would recommend trying some physical therapy before he starts cutting. And they will have good connections to the PT's. The guys I have gone too told me that unless you have pain you can't tolerate, put off the surgury. So you should go and see what he has to say.

I had some good success with physical therapy for bulged discs in my neck. I had a totally weak right arm with numbness in my fingers. Physical tharapy got my feeling and my strength back. Primarily, it was traction that worked for me. You probably can't get the bulge to go away completely from PT, but if the size reduces and pressure on the nerve is reduced or eliminated, that's success.
