..will dipping hinder muscle strength gains? many of you will probably be like "damn bro youre a fucking moron what a gay thread fag!" but for real ive never seen this subject come up and i used to chew a lot and it seemed like i wasnt getting as strong as i was when i quit. just curious does anyone know the effects of this? i know its a lot more of a nicotine rush to the blood than a cigarette. any input would be great thanks.
 
For what it's worth, I throw in a fat lipper every chance I get and I haven't seen any effect on my training for better or worse. I trash a can of Skoal in about 3-4 days -- maybe you do more or less than that, I don't know.

About the only real issue is the gums/inner lip getting a little sore. Which is to be expected, ya?

Side note: I should quit, but this is actually an accomplishment for me since i used to dip just as often ON TOP of being a pack a day smoker. I quit smoking 2 yrs ago and that had a DRAMATIC impact on my training. It's really amazing how much you actually f***ing breathe during exercise.... ;)

Nicotine probably won't affect strength training, much. It does have a hinderance on aerobic activity on a physiological level.

The way chewing WILL hinder your performance will be having to stay in the hospital for a few months while you have all the cancer removed from your mouth!

You will really enjoy those protein drinks once half your mouth is gone since that will be the only thing you can eat ;-))))

bro, you dont have to defend yourself. i have cut down to about half a can of copenhagen a day. yeah, i would love to quit, but i do enjoy it so fuck it. and if i lose half my jaw and end up eating protein shakes only, remember, i like chocolate flavor only. lol.

i dont believe in losing your jaw and having mouth cancer and shit from dippin. i know guys that have chewed for 15 years a can a day and havent had to have more than a skin graft.
