Interested in waxing my chest. Shaving has become such a bitch....bumps, rashes and not to mention I gota do it ever 3 days. Its like nice and clean for the day I shave. The day after I shave im mr. stubby chest Damit. Suggestions? and no.....Cant afford laser or anything a doc must do.

If you are going to wax any part of your body make sure you cut the hair as close to the skin as possible first before waxing. If you have ever tried peeling off a band-aid and it gets caught up in long hairs you will know what I am talking about. If you are going to do this yourself then just take your time and do small strips. There are alot of self-waxing kits out there for guys. It isn't so bad doing your chest. The worst areas are the backs of your calves for some reason but other guys might disagree on that. The results usually last 3 weeks but this can vary depending on your protein consumption. Expect some redness to the area you wax but this will gradually go away.

The alternative are hair removal creams. These can be quite harsh on the skin so do a small test area first. Make sure you never use these creams around your genitals.

If you are shaving with a blade, try doing it in the shower so that the hot water can soften the hair follicle and relax the skin. Use a new blade and shave in short strokes in the direction that the hair is growing. This may be difficult to see in some areas. If you shave against the direction then the hair will be pulled upwards too far and cut, allowing it to retract below the surface of the skin, irritate the skin, and produce a raised bump.

Whatever method you use, don't apply aftershave especially to you know where. :D

I get my back waxed every other week and I tried a couple spots on my chest and will NEVER do it again.

forget about waxing your chest. that shit is the most painful thing you will ever attempt in your life. stick to shaving it. or just get a set of clippers, and trim it with no guard on it. as far as waxing other stuff (i.e. your back) you want to have some hair there in order to get the waxing done. if you "cut the hair as close as possible to the skin" before like Kain said, they wont be able to wax you./

I guess I should have said 'cut as close as possible but leave something there to grab onto otherwise there is no point in waxing if you can't see anything'. But the longer the hair is on a part of your body the more discomfort you will feel when it is torn out.

my best friend/broly/partner in higher acts of stupidity had his glutes and crack waxed ONCE....never again....his groans and an an occassional muffled scream was heard in the waiting room. he waddled around like an old man for several days after having it done to him.

( never understood how a man who shaves his face once every full moon could be so hairy from the navel on down!)

Having your chest waxed is not that bad. I use to have my whole body waxed, untill it got to expensive. I would suggest you go to a professional waxer. They know how to do it correctly. I don't believe that the length of your hair has anything to do with the pain. Once the wax is rolled on and the strips have been set. It all comes off in one swift pull. Yes it does sting and it will hurt. That will soon stop. It only hurts when it is first pulled off. Once you get use to the feeling it won't be as bad.
I think you should go for it.....be all the man that you can be...show some smooth skin.

i use nair on my back. use about every 8 weeks or so. works great but you gotta be careful to not leave on more than four minutes. not all hair will come off in shower right away but most will come off first day.

first time i used i didnt know this and aplied three times in a rowthinking i had to get ALL the hair off right away. my skin was so burnt i was in agony for three or four days. that stuff can be very dangerous so be cautious at first.

i have some minor body hair, but not too thick. my avatar shows my body hair naturally. never shave any other body part. don't like back hair though. l
