Cheat Week Effective at helping increase metabolism?

for most peopel a week is too long, and youll likely add some fat, try a having one or 2 "carb-up" days, and then slowly decrease them again for a week, then another day or 2 of carbing up

Well the diet board sucks so I'm going to repost this thread here, where I can actually get some opinions.

Just want to know if cheating/upping cals for a week will help trick metabolism before I start low cals again and start my cutting cycle, or will it be a waste, and I should just keep dieting and not stop now?.

Are you cheating or upping your calories? Either way it's a nice way to refule before dieting.

well both are considered really.... Would upping "clean" cals to about 3500/day for a week and then go back down to 2200-2400 be beneficial before I start my cutter?

If you're going to "cheat", just make it one meal. If you're cycling calories/carbs, try 4 days low cals/moderate carbs, then 2 days higher cals/higher carbs. IMO after years of this stuff very low carb days are just a waste. I don't go below 120-150 on a low carb day unless it's a week before a show and I'm holding too much water. Also, if you're using tren in your cutter, remember that tren thermogenesis needs carbs to fuel it (learned that from Ulter)

I won't tell you what to do... but sounds like you've been dieting for 12-16 weeks hard.

If I wasn't preparing for comp or had anything strict to follow... I'd take a relaxed week of eating for mind and body.... everyone needs a break sometimes man.

Enjoy it... you can't do too much damage in a week that you won't see results in 3 weeks back on the diet.

After much real world experimentation I am a firm believer that unless you are dieting HARDCORE and are at extremely low bf levels, cheat meals are useless and just set you back from your goal.

Now on the other than things such as carb rotation and protein cycling are great for losing bf and holding muscle, but not cheat meals which normally contain too many calories, fats/carbs together, and sodium.

I let down my guard this winter and tried not eating as clean with the occasional cheat meal every 3-4 days. Even with test, primo, t3, and letro I still put on much unwanted bf. Never again.... unless your an ecto or contest prepping 3-4 weeks out and are too depleted, avoid cheat meals like a dbol only cycle.

cheat meals keep me sane.

Just talking about personal experience a cheat week is too much. I get sick of eating cheat meals by the end of the second day. I find that even going on vacation. I would limit it to a cheat meal a couple times that week at most. You're doing it for yourself endulgence not because it's going to refuel you going all week. Refueling is just as good with adding a lot fruit for a couple days.

Note: It's not just tren that needs carbs for thermogenesis. It's any thermo. If you use Thermorexin to cut you'll get considerably better results using carbs as the fire in which you burn the fat. Using carbs correctly or with Glucorell to feed the muscle cells will give you better results than trying to cut carbs out or too low.

alrite bros, these posts definately helped me out. I think im going to throw out the consideration of cheating for a week. I think im going to stick with what im doing , maybe not as completely strict this week, but come monday I'm going to do a monday through friday low to moderate carb days, and then up my carbs on saturday and sunday. So maybe about 120 to 150 on low days and up to 300 clean carbs on weekend might be good. thanks , k for you bros

If anything bump your carb intake for one day by about 50%, keep the carbs clean though. This is definetly more effective than cheating. Lets face it, we would all like to believe that cheat meals help just because that way we don't feel guilty eating a bunch of shit.

Cheat meals usually mean "carb reefeed" of some sorts for many

once to twice a week helps greatly with Glycogen replenishment, and tricking your body body lose fat, keep muscle, and still be ABLE TO WORKOUT WITH INTENSITY.

pretty much everything ive read from credible people (ie log photos that demonstrate that theyre on the ball) as well as personal experience says that a week is excessive. most people seem to favour a cheat day. (note: lots of people doing it doesnt neccessarily mean its right - just saying that there are some high level guys with consistent progress out there that ive personally been aware of that go the one day route.)

my own personal experience is that one cheat day ups my hardness, more than 2 soften me out. then again i dont use aas, so guys with greater metabolic need may benefit a bit more

cheerios
