Cheat, get a divorce and still get millions!!!!!

"Siegel said both sides were at fault for the divorce and defended his client as a good mother."

WTF?

I have no idea how guys convince themselves of certain a woman. Honestly, do you think she likes you for you? Or maybe your MONEY or something else? Wake up!

anyone have a link to that paper on why men should not get married?

the antimarraige paper? someone posted it.

This is the most important thing in the article....(about how they met)

At the time, she was married to another man and working in retail.

The guy had probably just started making a little money...a hot chick at the Gap gave him pussy...he was blinded by the pussy...thought it was love...didn't think that just because she was cheating on her husband...she would never do it to him.

That is one HELL of a rich husband. Even after all that, that's only 27% of his estate.

Nothing will change for her. She'll still live the life she's used to. Blame the dumbass moron who MARRIED a woman when he knew how much he was worth. You don't see Gene Simmons getting married do u? Man is smart.

Disagree. I would assume that she'll squander her millions and marry another guy.

If she did it to him,she will do it to you.

Pre nup is just a must. A must.

"The couple met in 1978 when Howard Sosin was an assistant professor at Columbia University. At the time, she was married to another man and working in retail.

Howard Sosin served as the president and chief operating officer of AIG Financial Products until 1993 when he left the company. Following litigation, he received $182 million from AIG."

He weren't no fricking millionare when they met.

He knew she was married to another man when they met.

The marriage was a longtime union. She spent MOST of her life with him, raising HIS children.

What does the fact that she was unfaithful have to do with her mothering abilities? Men have been historically less than faithful and no one EVER makes a correlation between their parenting abilities and their inability to keep their pants zipped.

PUH-LEASE.

Let's see -- Cheating, Lying, etc. on your vows.

That doesn't tell something about your character? You yourself have stated many times that men who do that are despicable dogs, worthless cretins and vile creatures from the 9th gates of hell.

You want these demons raising kids now?

Hippo-Crit!

Disgusting that family divorce cases don't treat people as equals but based upon stereotypes regarding gender. Never knew laws could be explicitly written as sexist.

Boy are they in for a surprise when they get their first male/male or female/female divorce case. What they gonna do then when their standard gender rules can't apply?

thats so fucking wrong

i think she probably should have received more. it seems that they made the money together, since a professor in a uni isnt going to have a steroidal bank account, and really, it doesnt matter if she cheated or not - you should get about half just citing irreconcilable differences - even in taht difference is being bored.

and why assume that she is going to piss the money away? just because shes a cheater doesnt mean she doesnt know how to do a balance sheet. shes probably smarter than your president

Are you sure you are not some female alter?

THERE IS NO WAY SUCH AN INTELLIGENT ARGUEMENT COULD HAVE POSSIBLY COME FROM A MAN!

;)

PS - Thanks to all the sillies for the red karma. Does my heart good to know that I hit a nerve! :)

Cheating on your spouse, though may be considered by some to be a character flaw (not saying it isn't silly boys) has nothing to do with the ability to parent OR run a country.

ONE WORD:

JFK

Oh wait - he was in possession of the proper urinary tract so that makes it ok.

*slaps forehead*

DOH! I keep forgetting that caveat.

LOL breaking your marital vows hardly constitutes being a demon. Unless of course you are a woman.

And here is a newsflash family divorce/custody cases whether you like it or not ARE FUCKING BIASED!

Hmmmmmmmmm I wonder how this guy made his money? You dont think there would have been just a hint of lying/cheating/stealing on a corporate/business level would there have been?

Come on. Please dont argue like you have never lived in the real world.

Nobody murdered anyone here. She cheated so she got fucked. She only got a quarter of the assets (probably spent twice that just to get it) as opposed to her rightful half. I dont see what all the hubbub is about.

let's think this through. When they met...

HE is a PhD professor at an Ivy League school. SHE works in retail. WHo do you think created the product that AIG paid $180M for?

Is he devoid of common sense for getting involved with a married woman? YUP.

Is she a cheating whore? YUP.

In other news....

I am amused at your ability to project your own demons on to cases entirely unrelated to your own experience. She cheated on him numerous times, yet you defend her "mothering" abilities.

Above all else, parents are role models. A parent has no greater duty than to set an example for their children. She has failed miserably at this paramount task.

If there were any justice in the divorce courts, they'd return her to the floor of the Gap at $8.50 an hour, where he found her.

Well according to that article he sued AIG for the 180million. I wonder what the merits of that case were?

In business, AIG is known as the death star. We work in a field where AIG operates...though we try to keep our distance.

AIG is the death star because they bring you in really close, they steal all your technology, and then they throw you back out in space.

AIG settled a lawsuit with this guy for some death star type behavior. Exactly what that has to do with his wife is anyone's guess.

How did I know Beached Whale would post in this thread?

Do you realize that everytime you post all of your past experiences come through? As Matty boy said, you're projecting your own demons. You're an open book that SCREAMS read me.

i dont agree at all, matt.

excuse the sophistry, but how do you know that he didnt cheat, or that she was driven to seek companionship/sex elsewhere by something he did (or didnt, or couldnt) do. how do you know that she wouldnt have achieved more if she didnt marry him in the first place? how can you be sure that she wasnt the one who motivated him enough to get out of the university and start the enterprise that made him a millionaire?

you cannot be sure that she wasnt instrumental in his success. nor can you say that he was not instrumental in her cheating.

they were a family unit, each of them fulfilling a role - he was the breadwinner, she was the childbearer. his achievement is easy to quantify (since you get monthly bank statements) while her efforts (popping out kids and all the other things people do) is harder to do measure - but is no less significant within that family unit.

another way to think of it is that she got half (less, really) of his labour over the years ($$ in the bank), while he got half of hers (kids all grown up and edjumicated by their mother).

anyway, im sick of talking about golddiggerism with you today, matt ;)

Well I didn't know that they shafted people like that. How it related to his wifes case is if he used a damn lawyer and the system to make money off the company like his wife used a damn lawyer and the system to make money off him. You know the karma stuff the buddist talk about.

what exactly does mothering abilities have to do with this? how do you even know she is a good mother to her children at all? do you know her personally? and why are you trying to defend her mothering abilities?

Her mothering abilities only came into play because it was metioned in the article.

No, I do not know her personally and I was hardly defending her. All I know is what I read in that article, as every other guy did that is bitching and moaning on this thread about prenups. The guy didn't have a pot to piss in (Big bad ASSISTANT proffesor that he was) when he married her. He knew she was married to another man when they met. He STILL married her. It was a longtime marriage where SHE RAISED HIS CHILDREN and the only reason she did not get her half was because she cheated on him. How many men cheat on their wives? I have yet to see a guy not get his due because he was the one that stepped out.

JFK went down as one of this country's greatest presidents. Never once have I seen anywhere his "fathering" capabilities questioned. EVERYONE KNEW HOW SHAMELESSLY HE CHEATED ON HIS WIFE!

But again, he had a cock, so it was OK. But I guess he was the "exception to the rule", right? NO OTHER GREAT US PRESIDENT EVER STEPPED OUT ON HIS CHILDREN AND WIFE!.... RIGHT?

Amusingly enough Mr Skywalker brings some silly bullshit about me and "personal demons" when I had "the audacity" to point out FACTS as they were presented in the article yet no one else posting on this thread that happens to support my view has them?

*wink*

OK :)

The settlement decision was based on facts outlined in court, not these hypotheticals you are discussing.

they were a family unit, each of them fulfilling a role - he was the breadwinner, she was the childbearer. his achievement is easy to quantify (since you get monthly bank statements) while her efforts (popping out kids and all the other things people do) is harder to do measure - but is no less significant within that family unit.

I don't want to fight either. No need to get into how he turned her from a retail clerk to a socialite, and that it was he who gave her the opportunity to have rock climbing lessons rather than work overtime folding clothes.

We'll ignore all of that. Instead, I hope you build up a vast fortune, marry a girl you expect to be faithful, and this happens to you. :)

Me? I'll have a prenup and a gun.

for $27million I will be the best pussy you ever had.
