Like ThaiBox said, you're not going to find cheap L-tryptophan in personal-use quantities, since it's illegal to sell it as such in the states. Here's a web-site that sells it 'for pets', but the price isn't too hot:

...not sure why you're needing it, but have you considered 5-htp?

i tried 5-htp before, but i didnt notice any results, maybe i should have tried it for longer, does it take a month or so to kick in?

I've started taking 5-htp and Melatonin at night before bed. I've been getting my best sleep over the last 3 nights than I've gotten in a year.

Didn't notice anything the 1st night, then it's been amazing ever since.

I bought 2 bottles from Bios pharms about a year ago. I went through both large bottles and wasn't impressed. Maybe I was missing some variable, but like these guys mentioned, I actually got good results from 5-htp. Which worked out good considering its legal, and cheap as hell.
