Cereal

I found this cereal and I wanted to post its contents to see if you guys thought it is some good stuff or if there is better stuff out there..

It is called Go Lean by Kashi

I have never seen a cereal with more protein and yet still maintain a high fiber count...

1g unsaturated fat
0g cholesterol
85mg Sodium
480mg Potassium
30g total carbs
10g Dietary Fiber
1g Soluble Fiber
9g Insoluble Fiber
6g Sugars

13g Protein

I think this is a shitload of protein...I used to eat Fiber one, but this has way more protein and only 3 grams less on fiber....are there better cereals for me, or is this a good one?

Thanks.

Well, it still has sugars in it & I think the label shows hydrogenated oils.... but I still eat it occasionally.... And the one I have has 12g fiber per 1 cup....

Go Lean Crunch doesn't have any hydrogenated oils. I use that as high GI carbs sometimes. It uses soy as its protein source. I think it tastes great it :)

Kashi makes good stuff. I like Heart to heart as well.

Go Lean Crunch!
INGREDIENTS: Kashi Seven Whole Grains & Sesame cereal (whole: oats, long grain brown rice, rye, hard red winter wheat, triticale, buckwheat, barley, sesame seeds), textured soy protein concentrate, evaporated cane juice, brown rice syrup, chicory root fiber, whole grain oats, Kashi Seven Whole Grains & Sesame flour (whole: oats, long grain brown rice, rye, hard red winter wheat, triticale, buckwheat, barley, sesame seeds), expeller pressed canola oil, honey, salt, cinnamon, mixed tocopherols (natural vitamin E) for freshness.

I normally go for shredded wheat and that is it... anyway, we don't have that many cereals here to choose from, since Europeans don't really eat cereals for breakfast: Sweet breads and rolls with cream is the name of the game here for Breakfast (ewwwww, can't stand it...)

BTW.... I just notices that shredded wheat and shredded weed sound about the same... and I am sure some people would have the secondf one for breakfast too... :chomp:

Drink a shake. Protein from vegetable sources (like wheat) is incomplete and normally useless from a BB point of view.

I think it's one of the other versions that have the hydrog. oils -- Good Friends or Cinnamon Raisin. I get the cereal at Trader Joe's & they have all sorts of flavors....

I've only found the "Good Friends" at my local grocery store..... I've found more varieties of Kashi cereals at my local Trader Joe's

HEB carries them, they usually have an organic section..also, Central Market or Whole foods will have them, they will be pricier there, so try a 'normal' store first...but yeah, at 13 grams of Protein not counting milk or the shake I have a little later, I feel nice.

Man, I can only WISH we had such a variety of healthy cereals down here... It all comes down to "Extra-Sugary-PinK-Radioactive-looking-kids-cereal" or raw wheat...

Thanks guys i found them in my local Stop & Shop and i couldnet find them at first for like 30 minutes but i found them in there own little health section. LOL. didnt know i ate special food these days =]

btw: gO LEAN Crunch the 13g protien one tastes great with some splenda =]
Very Very happy i read this thread!
