I was there last Saturday. Sick, plenty of people, many hotties.
Thursdays are no-go anymore since Subliminal Sessions moved to the new Shelter.
I would recommend Saturdays. Get into the Champagne room where it's easier to meet people.
Btw, I went to the new Club Shelter this Saturday after Centro-Fly at 5am and it was ghhheeeeettttooooo. I haven't been to Sub Sessions there yet but the crowd did not appear very friendly at all.

First I would like to say that Centro Fly is hot. check out there web site. I did a shoot there for a T.V show called sound track to your life that aired on Much Music usa............
the atmosphere is hot, and the ladies are a pleasant site, it is more for trendy upscale clubbers looking to show latest fashion trends while chatting it up and meeting new people, great place and good music.
as for SHELTER !!!!
The only reason why it did not look so good to you is because that party has been around for ever! it caters to true club kids the people who put true dance behind music, it is a place that dancers have the space they need to let loose on the floor. it is becuase of these same people that all the other clubs became big, like Paradise Garage, and the start of true house music. SHELTER IS A DEEPLY ROOTED PLACE WITH GREAT VIBE AND VERY GOOD DANCERS. if you are looking to get some ass and meet party girls.....then go to SF. but if you are looking for a chill night and you want to see how people really dance to the music in which you like so much have a session at SHELTER....... not trying to talk any one down.....but never compare apples to oranges......I personally like all the damn clubs, see for me I am a true dancer and have danced plenty at all the clubs in NY and around the area, watch my show on MMUSA and see what I mean.....peace bros

I love much music, too bad I lost it when i got rid of the satellite dish...
and I know what you mean... the "shelter" party is not for the SF kids....
I used to go to body and soul alot...some great dancers there as well...

shelter not for the sf kids? not quite sure what you mean. i used to hit the subliminal sessions at centro and liked the party and i also like the sf party as well. sf is all about the music.
i think shelter and arc are more comparable clubs. from the sound of it both are pretty ghetto and i have hit arc(vinyl) before. sf is no lounge upscale party at all

the "shelter" party...and the club, are 2 different things - play deep house R&B and classics - with Timmy regisford
the party used to be at vinyl on sat nights. it was moved with the start of the "made events" parties on saturdays
the subliminal party is tooooooottally different, that is a party for subliminal records, with different guest dj's every week.

When I lived in NY, I went to Centro all the time.
Cool crowd, very friendly. Huge line at the door after 12.
People don't get looped there, pretty upbeat mood.
Weasel your way into the Champagne Room for better mingling.

terry mullan is great. This is a Plant party, the plant guys usually play some nice deep house music...low on the cheese level
The guestlist closes at one or 2 so usually there is a line ...although it is summer....

I'll be in NY for the film festival at the garden Sept 18-22. From what i've read so far, the clubs to hit are Centro and SF. What nights are the best for each? Both Fri/Sat?
What about Thursday night?
I'm from LA and never been to NY before, so I'm looking to see how the NY club scene compares with AfterhourPower, Club Naked, and Rubber.

I was 8/15 and it was pretty good. Alot of good looking girls and good music. It doesn't compare to SF, but it's a nice place to hit on a thurs night.
I will hit it up again soon.
