CD burner, which one to buy

I am buying a burner tomorrow and am curious to what others have out there.

I am either buying the Plextor or the Yamaha. The Yamaha is a bit faster and a bit cheaper but I don't care about the price difference as it is only $40.00

Opinions?

I would choose the yamaha. I've burned over 200 discs already with it with no probs. Also it's disc-at-once compatible if you're into making illegal copies of stuff like psx game or microsoft stuff.

Plextor

If you are looking for something reliable, I would buy either a PLEXTOR - PLEXWRITER 24x10x40 if you could find them or Plexwriter 40x12x40a. Also Yamaha makes a good drive.

The Plextor is the 24x10x40 model.

From all the research I have done and the people I have talked to, I think either the Yamaha or the Plextor will be a good choice.

Yamaha. I had a Sony, and after it died, I got a Yamaha 4X burner. It's a refurb, and has done a great job for me.

Plus, the software that comes with the Yamaha's is good. Not sure what the Plextors come with.

If you have the coin go for the plextor. Since day one its basically been touted as the best burner out there.

My second choice would be an LG. Cheap, reliable and fast......what more do you want :)

Well I bought the Yamaha, I went up a bit from the model I was gonna buy as I heard nothing but good things from it. I also got a deal thrown in where over the next 3 years if its productivity diminishes I can trade it in for a new one at no cost to me. I couldn't pass that up.
