Maybe the notion of pulling a Lieutenant Dan wouldn't seem so romantic as you're watching yourself bleed out from a flying piece of sheet metal. Just a thought.

On the other hand, if you're going to do it, do it right. Try to score a bag of some really good meth (try to get some of that real pure shit called "glass" or "ice"- I hear it's the bomb) and buy a fifth of Jack Daniels. Wait until that fucker is just about to roll in and swig down a good bit of the whiskey, then snort up a giant fucking rail of the meth. Try to time it so the rush kicks in real hard right when the storm does. That would be one hell of a ride.
 
The problem ain't gonna be the winds. Sure they might blow my roof off or some shit but it ain't gonna kill me. The problem is the flooding. 6-10inchs within a 6 hour period. That could lead to 6 feet of water where I live. Everyone on my road has left, a police car came by a few times saying "Mandatory Evacuation" but my neighbors across the street are staying so I know I'm with good company, if my roof comes off they got a two story house so I can run over there and be safe from floods and wind.
 
Heh my neighbor said fuck this. He took his camper and left. I am the only person still on my road. Wish me luck!
 
Hey bro Im gonna say fuck baton rouge and roll out to lafayette and chill. We can sit on your front lawn in some nice lawn chairs and drink a few.

I was in Hugo, it's not worth it, get out while you can. I was over 100 miles inland when Hugo hit, It totally destroyed several communities around here. There are still places that have not recovered.
 
ooo that'll be lovely if I were in Lafayette right now. Uh, no. After I got fired from my job I moved in with my brother, and to be closer to Cypress Point where my boat is, might as well get some fishing done while I'm laid off.

So I am near the Bayou right now, right on the Gulf. About 10 minutes away from Avery Island and RIGHT in the middle the where the hurricane's eye is supposed to go. And with storm surges 12-15 feet high plus 6-10inchs of rain within 6 hours. Not to mention we are almost below sea level. I may say fuck it if worse comes to worse and go to Avery Island. It's futher south but it's on much higher land.

Hell, I'd love to be in Baton Rouge right now. I gaurantee it won't be half as bad as this place is getting. Lafayette is gonna pretty much be a safe spot.
 
Advaik I think you should pack up your essentials and get out of there now. I do feel an urge to ride something like that out for the thrill of it but I would only do it after I have accomplished most of my goals in life. Then someone can find my butt floating in the gulf.
 
Well looks like houston is going to get bypassed...and to think all the Nasa info my step dad brought home was wrong and we borded up all the windows...ARRR

fuck face? Actually I was born in Lousiana on the Bayou and am a pure bred cajun (not a little frenchy wanna be cajun like most of the people are around here).

Yea the east side is the worse, but fuck, you're all the way up there in baton rouge. You ain't on the gulf and you ain't in low lying areas. Just because the hurricane is passing directly over us doesnt mean we are safe. Hell, even if we were on the west side we'd still be in deep shit because of the flooding. You might get a little heavier winds being on the east side, but you are not getting anywheres near the flooding we are gonna get. Plus by time it gets up there it should have died quite a bit, Lili is suppose to die quickly once it hits land.

btw why the hell you going from Baton Rouge to Lafayette? Move northwest not southwest both cities will probably get the same amount of intensity. Lafayette because it is farther south and the hurricane will be strong at that time, and baton rouge because it's on the east side but higher north so the hurricane would have died alot by then even though it is on the east side. I'd go to Opelousas if i had a choice.

I'M GETTING ABOUT 40-50MPH GUSTS AS I TYPE. SHOULDNT GET OVER 80 WHERE I'M AT THOUGH.

I made it through most of the ones that hit Lafayette back in the 80's 1or2 in the early 80's hit Cat 4
