For most of us cardio is a pain in the ass
It may be "useful" for the heart and/or for losing fat but it is not a very pleasant moment to spend

Who actually enjoys cardio ?
(I have to admit I sometimes spend a good on the threadmill or in a spinning class, maybe due to the "serotonin effect")

Cardio is a necessary evil. Now, YOGA I enjoy. Just for the general beauty of the hot laidies in unique positions. I mean, it's SO relaxing for the mind.

On a serious note, yoga gives me increased flexibility which I find improves my weight lifting.

No one enjoys cardio ;) ?

Every time I think of sprinting my next 400m interval, I feel pretty nervous. But when it gets to the 5th or 6th set, I'll feel more enjoyable cause my workout is ending and the 100m part of the workout which I enjoy.

I like cardio. It can be very zen. Granted, I'd rather be in the weight room, given a choice, but I certainly don't *dread* it.

i LOVE cardio when i'm mountain biking or roller blading outside along the lake. i HATE cardio when i'm in the gym doing stairs or running on the treadmill. the only good thing about "gym cardio" is when it's over. then i feel great. :)

I have never liked cardio, probably never will. Its all a mental thing though, when I am cutting I will have to do it.

Cardio....this is one area made too easy where I live....approx. 5 miles from the beach....I can surf, jog, bike...you get the point....problem is...it is so fun and relaxing that it is very easy for me to over do it...and sacrifice muscle and workout time...

Ehhhhh....cardio....I hate it.

But since I'm cutting, I try to go with just as much intensity while on the elliptical (my machine of choice), as I do with my workouts, if not more so. Every time, I just shoot for burning more calories, or keeping my HR higher. Every little gain I see, keeps me motivated to push myself harder the next time.

I'm trying to pack on lean mass now, but I still do cardio in the evenings at a very relaxing pace (incline 12 degrees, speed around 3.5)..........for 35 minutes....only because I sit all day in the office (train at 4am) and I neeed to move around a little....it might be holding me back though......

Yeah I hate mindless cardio, but now put a competitive feel such as grappling or boxing and I am game for it, even sprinting is more fun than mindless jogging

that just gave me flashbacks of being near the beach.. asshole... :)

Who knows the relationship between

* cardio intensity, length, heart rate ....
and
* serotonin/dopamine and noradrenaline levels?

All I know is sustaining heart rate for 30 minutes and above will improve VO2max , and does not matter whether it is anaerobic HIIT or aerobic training. The end product will be the same, to improve ur VO2max hence improve ur aerobic base.
