Cardio or Lifting for cutting?

Was wondering what the current consensus is for exercising while dieting.

I personally dont see a difefrene between eating under BMR, eating AT BMR and burning 300 cals through cardio, or lifting and burning a few hundred through that. You're putting yourself into a defacit no matter what. I'd think just lifting would be better because it keeps your muscles int he "know" of lifting, and you burn more cals throughout the day through that than just cardio. I'd say do cardio if you want the cardiovascular benefit it offers.

What ya all think? Anyone have any hardcore proof that one is better than the other for losing fat?
 
I'm thinking that I agree with you...but I am not a genius at fat loss either.

use lactic acid training to burn fat from training.
Lactic acid promotes greater growth hormone release. One reason why German Volume Training is the way it is :)

I use both so I get double fat loss - lactic acid from my one set of super slow reps - 5 secs up and down - 6 reps, ie a TUT of 1 min
and sprint intervals.

Throw in 1+ gallon of ice cold water and you'll be freaked at how fast the fat comes off. I've had days where I lose a whole 1/4inch of my waist even when I'm eating junk food!
 
Have to go with Cool on this one , I do these kind of stuff when i am on holidays and I always look for a "eat all you can" restaurant otherwise I can't fuel such a skyrocketed BMR.

I do interval training through the sand and sprint swimming.

Doing the lifting is equally important as it keeps your BMR even more elevated and keep muscle loss minimized.

I remember some days that I got up for 1 hour slow jogging through the dunes pre-breakfast, than eat , weight training at the beach gym (one muscle group), eat, chill with a large proteine shake near the swimming pool, than high intensity sprint swimming fo 20-30 minutes, eat, chill, train weights , one small musclegroup, got to eat all you can restaurant, make the owner cry for ransacking him,

It's a sick schedule but in 1 and halve week you are in very good shape. On holidays it's easier to do this as you have no stress / obligations for work etc.. and your CNS is relaxed because of the sunlight, nice temperature, hot chicks etc...
