Cardio - Low or High Intensity

jassdhali said:
Guys,

Is it true that a low intensity workout will burn more fat compared to high intensity workouts.

Lower intesity will burn more fat in a ratio compared to total calories burned.....but when you add high intesity, your "fat burning" RATIO gos down,,,but your burning so much more total calories that you end up burning more fat. Cardio sucks and is boring either way :)

Here is an interesting article I picked up on this board a few months ago. Just something to read and think of. Enjoy.

http://www.rippednaturally.com/bodybuilding_cardiovascular_exercise_lose_fat_from_metabolism.html

If you read it, what do you think? Has anyone ever done this? Mr. Diggs is right, cardio is boring, but if you add in some Lipoflame, it seems to go by a lot faster.

This is interesting - I have been doing sprints a lot with my weights during a bulking, because I play tennis and wanted to maintain speed without destroying my bulk.

What I found is what the article suggests - I have been eating 4000-5000 calories daily, and not gaining fat, even though I'm 71-72kg and 5'6. Perhaps sprinting does prevent you from gaining fat, although I'm not going to try his 8000 calorie diet

Stuward, interesting post, but do you believe the study he cites saying "The resistance training group lost significantly more fat and didn't lose any LBM, even at only 800 calories per day".

800 calories per day??!! What would that be - 150 gram P, 20 F, no carbs? It is a bit hard to believe

I don't know I didn't read the reference, why don't you look it up?
