Cardio - Active Recovery

ANyone have a good active recovery cardio plan? Gym work, maybe like farmer walks, static hold, calves, forearms.

sled drags with varying movements:

rows
pull throughs
ankle drags
regular forward walking (chain through belt)
backward walking (chain through belt)
backwards drag using handle attachment

farmers walks

another variation thats tough and fun is an overhead carry type movement. basically I consider it a farmer walk but holding the olympic bar overhead(loaded or unloaded, but use collars if loaded!). Great movement for core stability in the overhead position. its tough too. doesnt take too much weight but gets you breathing like nobody's business.
done for distance like a farmers walk. if you get a turn in there too?....wooo!

variation on that would be similar to doing a conan's wheel but with an olympic bar and walking for distance. I call them zercher walks but there may be a more specific name for them.

all great for bringing up GPP and will get your heart rate racing!

hope this helps.

One of the big things in GPP if you notice is the lack of eccentric portion in the exercise. When you drag a sled, it's concentric only which is a lot less on the body especially in a lower intensity (%1RM) GPP or cardio style setting.

Good stuff....so what might your typical cardio session look like?

5-6 Hang Cleans
3 sets of farmer walks
.........

Holy shit, ever since I've been on these fucking forums you've needed everything laid out for you. Are you this thick? Jesus fucking Christ, formulate something for yourself once! You have the capacity to sign up and post on a message board - you can throw together a bunch of shit to make a training plan!

Then again, I'm probably giving you the benefit of the doubt, and it's likely severely misplaced.

Oh, and by the by - this "kid" you're supposedly training isn't going to feel the effects the same as Guinness or Bignate would. Don't you get that? There are so many variables, you can't just attach training volumes from one person to the next. It's individualistic.

Just about the best active recovery I've found is simply walking. Of course I consider cooking and eating "active" recovery.

Want to recover...relax. In the words of Magnus Samuelsson..."When you train...TRAIN. When you are not training...relax."

thanks bro...

You need to nix the cardio and all the active recovery shit bro.

if you add another 1200 calories to your anorexic diet then maybe consider active recovery. even then I still wouldn't do it. I might sound harsh but you ask endless questions that always involved training more and more. when it comes to training, less is more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :@
