Car question...93 Explorer

casavant

New member
What's up guys? I have a little problem with my '93 Explorer. It has a factory alarm system and I have a little keychain remote that I keep in my console. To start it, I have to push the "disarm" button. Well, I've been meaning to get the useless thing disconnected but of course have put it off. This morning, the damn button wouldn't work and now I have a perfectly functioning vehicle that will not let me start it. How the hell do I go about correcting this situation? I'm flying to Florida tomorrow, so this is really some shitty timing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sometimes there is a bypass button under the dash by the floor panel. Try pushing this to reset it. You may have to hold it and turn the key. If this doesn't work, try calling any car alarm place. They should be able to help....

Should be a valet switch under the dash or beside your steering column.
