We just bought an old beater and the steering knuckle on the front driver's side was bent. Not a big deal really. We were able to get one for a hundred dollars. The problem we're having now is apparently the previous owner tried to compensate for the bent knuckle by adjusting the toe waaaaaay crazy inboard in order to make the wheel point straight.
Now that the good steering knuckle is on neither me or my guy can twist the adjuster bolt far enough down to get the toe even outboard enough to make the car driveable. There's still plenty of thread showing on the bolt compared to the passenger side, but we cannot get the fucker to turn any further, so the tie rod is so far extended still that if you attach it to the knuckle the wheel is pointing way to the right. I think it's where the bolt threads into the inner rod that it's freezing up on us and wont turn far enough.
Any tips?
