Car Audio Help please :)

Ok I want to upgrade my car audio. I don't need anything fancy or expensive. I just want to be able to listen to my death metal so that it is still really loud when I have my windows rolled down and I'm driving down the freeway.

Right now I just have whatever the stereo and speakers are that came with my '95 Rodeo. I can get either speakers or a stereo for Christmas, but not both. Which should I get first? And could you give me some specs that I should look for as a minimum? Again, I'm only thinking in the $150 range.

well...it is up to you if u want a stereo or speakers for your car..but 150 is not a lot of money at all...

first off, you are not going to be able to get a subwoofer, so your bass will not be good..but you can replace like 4 speakers and put kenwoods in or something, may be able to do that for 200...i mean if you want a decent system id say need to put down at least 600 for bare minuim...gl

peace

Yeah i'm just not interested in spending that kind of money. like i said i just want something thats a step above factory. something that i can turn up loud and not have it distorted to all hell. i don't need the bass rattle my bones.

frorider i'm checking out that sight.

yea crutchfield is deffinatly the way to go..it is also a big + if you can install the shit yourself...

peace

They have really good prices too. I did A LOT of comparision shopping and they have the best prices and service if you're going to do it yourself.

150.00 On a deck or seprates will not get you what your looking for in mop. It's kind of a catch 22 when dealing with your front end audio. If you get a kick ass deck with nice clean power..your stock speakers may not be able to handle it..but if they can then it will sound better than a stock deck and custom seprates. Just my 2cents.
