Can't Get No Satisfaction

Ok, a few months ago, I was at about 13-14% bodyfat. Cutting out sugars and refined carbs, I am currently down to 8-9% or so. Wahoo, I can see some definite ab definition, about the first time in my life. It's nice. Also becoming slightly more vascular, which is cool. For reference, I'm 6'2, 22 years old, about 190-195 lbs. Yes, I'm a slender boy, but I have a smaller-size frame (I think - 6.5 inch wrists), and I can't get too big (hopefully going to the 2004 Olympic Trials in swimming, need to stay on the leaner side).

However, does everyone else always want more? I was very happy for about two or three days, then I'm thinking "Hm... still some fat to be lost." Do people get down to 5-6% and are still not happy? I suppose that once you get down that low, most want to maintain that level but add some mass.

Anyways, I'll probably keep at this diet stuff for another three weeks or so. It's hard to keep carbs low (only carbs are cereal before and after workouts) and still train hard.

I suppose it's human nature to never be satisfied with what you have. I mean, suppose I make my goal and go to the Trials in two years. I know I have zero chance of making it to the Olympics (no drug connections! [yet :D ]), but will I say after the meet, "Dammit, I suck. I wasn't in the top two in the nation in my events."? I hope not, that would suck. :)

Hey Man,

Well, when I used to compete in bodybuilding, it is amazing how bad I wanted to be conditioned at the beginning of my pre contest phase, but once I was there, it was never quite good enough, plus the dieting and training sucked so bad I never really had the time to enjoy it. Being ripped for BB was just like a skill....for example, like kobe bryant being amazing at dunking....he is never satisfied with his dunking ability, and only people who can't do it (overweight people in the case of bodybuilding) are amazed. Does that make sense? Anyway...good luck with training and congrats on your gains.
