New personal record after 24 years of lifting (post #1)
I just posted this on the anabolic board, but I'm proud of the achievement so I'm posting it here too. I turned 38 a week and half ago. Tonight I decided to rep with 225 to failure because my shoulder is hurting and I didn't want to go heavy. The most I've ever done is 225x24, tonight i hit it for 27 reps. Stronger than ever at the age of 38. Don't quit training if that is your passion.

I really appreciate that. I never look forward to working legs. I've been squatting for the past 3 months and I go for 20 reps with 315 which is a bitch. I have to lie on the floor for a few minutes to recuperate between sets. My knees have also been aching and I'm not sure if it's the squats or playing basketball on Sundays.

But at least, I would hope, you have a sense of accomplishment now that you are done. Should feel better that you didn't just blow it off.
