Can't Find Weight Gainers.......

........with low sugars. I'm going to be comming off of my bulking cycle and would like to bump up my calories by a 1k using weight gainers, but I can't seem to find any low in sugar. Which ones do you guys recommend?? I've never used a weight gainer before. I figure if I continue eating as I am now(which is a lot) and add some more calories with a weight gainer I'll have a better chance to keep my gains.

make your own weight gainer. Protein Powder, Peanut butter, oatmeal, banana, add milk if you want, throw in a blender and chug it.

Yea, thats cool if I'm around the house and have time, but sometimes I just want some powder I can bring with me to work or somewhere where I can just pound it.

Just plain old oatmeal & protein work great. Pour a bunch of oatmeal in the protein container and take to work with you. Oatmeal is also a much better carb than the maltodextrin shit they put in most weight gainers anyways.

I make my own from supplement direct dextrose and protein powder. I mix it up with 2% milk and throw in some flax seed oil. Doesn't taste too great, but it works and much cheaper than buying one. Also when making your own you can customize the exact nutrient levels (like getting enough protein without going ovaerbaord on the carbs).

I would only take the dextrose post-workout bro. You are probably taking in way too much sugar. Use oatmeal or something similar.

Not sure how efective it is at putting on weight (never tried it)

But here's a Labrada product that marketed as a Low sugar Weight gainer.

Kwik Size XXXL

first ingredient listed: maltodextrin

i think a lot of companies try to claim "low sugar" (which i guess is somewhat accurate, but still deceiving) by using maltodextrin

cytogainer (another weight gain product from cytosport) says "complex carbs ONLY!" on the label... first ingredient? you guessed it... maltodextrin

there in nothing wrong with Maltodextrin..It has a good glycemic index so it really does not matter.

I agree....

i was basing my statement on the fact that maltodextrin has a very high GI (have seen it listed at ~150). and elevates blood sugar significantly... (from what i've read)

any opinions??
