Can't do many pullups? Try kipping!

I found this on the crossfit website yesterday:

http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/eva-on-kipping.wmv

It's a girl teaching a kid how to use kipping to help with pullups. I've never heard of it before, but it's a way of increasing the swinging momentum that helps you. I know, 'real' pullups are done without body english, but this can be a great help for those that can't do many, or none at all, and probably better for you than pulldowns.

at my gym they have some crummy machine where u can do pullups with it with ur knees resting on a pad

if u cant do pullups u can always use that machine

I really like the crossfit site - those people are really good all round...

Great website for functional fitness. I'm always checking for new ideas; their WOD is great if you want to change it up.

Just make sure to bring a bucket to the gym.

A very large bucket. Also bring a stare to frighten off the physical trainer that's going to come over and bitch about your training methods.

I like their criteria for fitness. Many people focus on too few aspects, when in reality, they all are pretty damn important.
