Its something their police do to catch meth addict car thiefs I guess. The one guy was like "They bait car'd my ass!" I've been LMAOing ever since I seen it.

Yeah they have a whole site about it, I posted up a link before and hardly anyone responded, the vids are pretty sweet to watch, a bunch of meth heads doing some crazy shit and freakin out. The craziest one is the one with the guy screaming "ONCOMING" and trying to shoot the windows out of the car.

So the bait car police use does not have a remote shut-down or lock-down mechanism built in?

So the guy can steal a bait car, provided by the police, use it to endanger the public and possibly kill people - just so the police can tape him doing so in order to prosecute him?

How about providing bait guns that criminals can steal and then kill people with - just so that the police have evidence against them?

So how does this serve and protect the public?

First off you don't know where this was, it could have been a suburban neighbourhood, maybe the car has to be a certain distance to shut the car off?

Yes they have remote shut downs, in the beginning when they started the program you had to be within a certain range of the car to shut it down.

Bait cars are quite commonly used in the greater Vancouver area of BC to shut down car thieves. The cars have BOTH a lock-down mechanism and a remote engine shutoff. The cars, when 'stolen', are followed for a period of time, until they reach an area where a 'shutoff' will cause no injuries or dangerous situations, then locked down and shutoff. They have been amazingly effective in combatting car theft anywhere they have been used.

I been in the union for 5 years and never took one. Some trades they do but they give them a few days notice. As long as I had at least one day I could pass. Most tradesman it seems are alcohoics or cokeheads. The wors is the pipefitters. They get paid about 40per hr and barely do a thing. You can usually find them in their jobsite trailer drinking after 9am coffee break.
