Can you help with a 2x weights a day routine?

chefbone

High End Bro

Currently I'm doing cardio for a 30 minutes in the morning and hitting the weights later in the day. I want to squeeze in as much weight training as I can in the next 7-8 weeks before I leave for Basic training.
I've never lifted 2x a day and I'm unsure at the approach. I have some idea but would like some input from bro's that have done it successfully. I will be running Test Prop ED at 100mg and T-bol @ 50mg a day for 5-6 of those weeks.
K to everyone that helps out! :Chef:

i did that for a whilie and it worked great!

try this:

am chest, pm biceps

am quads, pm triceps

am back, pm hammies/calves

am delts, pm abs/cardio

You did tri's two days in a row?
No back routine?:Chef:

chefbone you said you were going to basic training. Are you lifting for pure size or training funtionally for boot camp?

I weigh 198 now so I don't want to get any heavier and I really don't want to get any smaller. I could be happy with 190-192 before Basic. I would like to put on 4-5lbs of LBM and maybe drop 4-5 of fat. This is reasonable I believe.
I'm going to do cardio at least once a day throughout the next 8 weeks just not sure where to fit it in.

So, to answer your ?, I'd say functional! :Chef: :tuc:

Not sure what your asking as far as a routine..But what satch said would work fine for you..If i workout twice aday i would usally do like the same muscle twice a day, say like benchpress in am then in pm id do like incline bench, trying to hit a top and a bottom at different times of the day..like bic's, do one that hits top then then bottom later in afternoon..Also add a extra muscle group with it the same day..So basically like satch but hiting top and bottom so you get a much more intense workout on the muscle... Hope you get the idea lol....Gl

How did you take ur days off Satch...one or two days then start again?

instinctive training for me bro..
so if feel burnt out, ill take a day off.
and if i feel strong, ill pump for sometimes up to 4 days straight..
really depends on how body feels.

resting ALOT and eating a TON of food is the key when training 2x per day.

if you cant eat a shitload of food, forget about it.. dont do it or youll actually burn muscle..

and if you cant sleep 8 hours per night, and another 1-2 in the afternoon, perhaps the 2x per day aint for ya.

If you are doing funtional over pure size I'd do the weights in one sitting. Then come back for cardio and ab/funtional work on the swiss ball's, dyna discs, and BOSU's. If you have access to a areobic room you can use an agility ladder and set up the aerobic steps for box jumps.

Satch's routine is fine, but I kinda like doing pushing muscles and pulling muscles on the same day. Do abs everyday before or after your AM or PM workout. Traps can be done on your back day or shoulders day-whichever you prefer.

Day one AM- chest PM- Shoulders/Tris

Day two AM-back PM- bis/forearms

Day three AM- Quads PM- Hams/calves

Day four-off or abs/cardio only

8 hrs sleep/night and having a low stress, minimal physical labor-job which allows you to eat every couple of hours is essential. A PM nap and proper gear would facilitate nicely as well, otherwise this is overtraining at it's finest.
