Can you cut and bulk at the same time?

Me and my friend are currently going to the gym 4 times a week, normally in 2 hour periods.

Monday: Chest/Back
Tuesday: Arms/Shoulders/Neck

Thursday:Chest/Back
Friday:Arms/Shoulders/Neck

For a while now we have been doing sets of 8 on heavy weights and we have bulked up quite a bit, but we wish to carry on doing so, but at the same time get good definition. So we was thinking of doing a definition day for our Chest/Back, Arms/Shoulders/Neck once a week where would do sets of 20's. We would also do a heavy lifting day for our Arms/Shoulders/Neck, Chest/Back once a week.

Now would this work? Or would be wasting our time, I thought I would do some research before we went ahead and tried it out.

Why dont you train your legs???

And no you cant cut and bulk at the same time.

Look in the stickies for some good training programs.

If you are just starting out and have not lifted before, you can
or if you have had a long lay off, u can

or if you are on AAS you can other than that, you can mainly just keep the muscle you have while you are stripping the fat.. but it is hard

Not worried about my legs just yet, theyre big enough as it is from years of playing football, cycling and running, my quads are massive. Do plan to start my legs next year though.

they are not big from running or playing football or cycling .. if they are big it is just genetic ... " that is all " if you are not lifting with them.

Yes, you can cut and bulk at the same time and you need neither caloric deficit nor cardio to do it. Any intermediate lifter or below with above mid-teens bodyfat can do it, I reckon. You'll not be doing either as efficiently as you could be but then you'll likely not be stressing about either either. Your body will recompose itself from working out.

Forget about the 'definition day' unless you want to rename it to 'GPP day' or 'conditioning day' or 'dynamic effort day'. Even then forget about it for a couple of years and discover the joys of back-off sets. Work legs, you'll thank yourself later.

I'm not sure on this body recomposition thing. Wouldn't your bodyfat have to be a lot higher for that to happen? For example, I started out at maybe 12% (very close to seeing my abs) and bulked for the past 4 months. I ate too much to start with (up 1.5lb/week), so my bf has gone up more than I wanted. If recomposition was possible, I ought to be able to lower my caloric intake to maintenance for a while, lose some fat and add a bit of muscle. And then go back to slower bulking. I can't see it happening somehow though.
