Can you catch aids/hiv this way???

There is a antiseptic solution called "new skin" its for cuts. It has a swab & you dip it in the solution & they put it on the cut. my question is if two people share the same swab & one has aids can the other person get aids? Can you get it that way? Does alcohol kill the HIV virus??

HIV dies within minutes anyway outside the body. Alchol will definitely kill HIV in seconds don't worry.

Cigarrettes, Fast Food, and Alcohol all come to mind. I Guess its all about abuse though. If you sat there for weeks dabbing the swab on an aids/hiv infected individual and then dabbing it on you to try to contract it, then who knows, you might get lucky.

Not so fast! Yes alcohol can kill HIV, but it does take a few minutes to work. That's a huge misnomer people have about antimicrobials. I don't work with HIV directly (I work with the Nef protein from HIV) but the people in the P3 labs have told me this. They don't necessarily kill right away. HIV is a pretty weak virus, but alcohol is a pretty weak antiseptic. The virus must be thoroughly exposed to alcohol, or bleach, or UV for several minutes before you can be safe.

usersatch has a good point I am currently communicating with some of the representatives at Medtech the manufacture of New Skin. I believe the percent of alcohol is less 50% so this could go either way. I'll let all of you know ASAP.

I don't think that it is a good idea to share a swab with a person who is infected with HIV due to the fact that they have an opened wound and so do you. Sharing the same swab is very risky. You can catch hepatitis from sharing a straw when doing coke. I would abstain from the whole sharing of the swab thing.
