Can you bulk on low carb high fat??? and only post workout carb and no carbups?

While I agree that muscle anabolism is 'optimal' with heightened IGF and insulin levels, there has been members who have claimed that they HAVE built muscle on a low carb/keto style diet regimin. Simply, it becomes a matter of getting in enough calories to promote muscle gain. This may become harder on a low carb diet because your food choices to eat decreases. I believe cockdezl has answered this question as well in the past (probably many times :) )

I do agree with most that adding carbs to your diet for muscle gain is the way to go, but to say it is impossible to gain muscle without them, is not true by other peoples real-world results.

Controlling insulin may be a factor to losing fat and gaining muscle, but it ultimately comes down to calories in vs calories out.

NO,

you need a lot of protein to buid muscle (#1.5g/LBM)
and carbs arerecommended when bulking

Protein doesnt build muscles.Hard exercise do.You dont need more then 20 % of protein in your diet and 60 % of carbs when bulking.
Good luck

hard exercise will just break down the muscle and stimulate it to grow. What would you repair it with to make it grow after its broken down? this is why protien is so important. Unless you feed your muscles after you a hard workout, you will not grow, it would just be catabolic if you worked out harder and did not take in much protien. So it's a combo of both.

you have a point, but I believe the harder you work out the more protien you will need. I would not do less than 1.5 grams of protien per pound to build muscle.

i was strong as fuck in high school and i bet i was takin about a 100 grams of protien to 150 grams i weighed 225 at 6foot3 and benched 335 (basically what i bench now but ive filled out in other places) and i was drinking alot of weiight gainers with high carbs

i believe protien is over rated. people think get stronger when they up there protien . the reason they think this , it is just basically increasing calories you would do just fine by adding more carbs. i did 400 grams of protien for a long time and lifting constantly then i dropped it to 300 then eventually to 200 grams(slightly below bodyweight) i just replaced the calories to carbs and got same results if not better.

something else i notice a few guys i do construction work with have kinda big arms and they just eat junk food not much protien and things like that, i just dont think anyone needs that much protien.

the excess of protien basically turns to glucose, and which really is basically an expensive form of carbohydrates

I've gotten stronger using the anabolic diet, but I don't know if I gained much size. I carbed on Fridays and Saturdays, and trained on Sun, Fri and Saturday. It works okay, as I didn't really gain any fat doing it, but it's easier just to eat a normal diet and bulk up.

i would have to agree with kid dynamite because he is a friend of mine and although his strength has gone up some his size is not gaining much. no matter what the body needs carbs, its the right kind that you need. plus if you have the right amount at the right time then you will notice size increase. im sure that their other people out there who can go deeper into this discussion. good luck man!
